Dear Mr. Martens:
Clean, available, accessible water is the next oil, and once it is laced with chemicals, it can never be pure again. Why would we so short-sightedly squander such a valuable commodity in the short run for a very limited, expensive industry that will be obsolete soon, after the irreversible damage is done for us, the environment and our children's children. The innumerable events, research and statistics demonstrate that this industry is not clean, reliable, or job-creating. The burden to State and local taxpayers for infrastructure destruction and other forms of clean-up and contamination have repeatedly been shown to cause major economic woes eventually.
Please advocate for strong revised SGEIS regulations regarding natural gas hydrofracking: this issue needs proper attention.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
