support the following initiatives on natural gas drilling in New York state

I am writing you today to firmly support the following initiatives on natural gas drilling in New York state. I believe this is ultimately a moral issue in that it risks large scale pollution and destruction of our water, which cannot be reclaimed or purified. It is literally our future. Also destroyed would be our tourism, our wineries and sustainable farming operations. Once people understand the ramifications of high volume slickwater hydrofracking, they uniformly support a ban on the practice.

PLEASE:

Expand the scope of the draft SGEIS to include additional concerns, notably how to manage gas drilling wastewater

Establish Citizens and Technical Advisory Committees to help DEC revise the draft SGEIS

Provide at least 30 days public comment to identify additional issues to be included in the draft SGEIS scope;

Requre individual EIS reviews for horizontal hydrofracturing permits

Thank you for addressing these needs.
