Greetings,
I am passing along four news items for your review. We continue to shine a very bright light on DEC's regulatory shortcomings, but have yet to persuade the Governor to withdraw the draft SGEIS.
Nevertheless, at least one giant gas firm is reportedly "shifting its focus to Pennsylvania because uncertainties in New York threatened to undermine its investments there."
Anyone who believed it would be easy to kill the draft SGEIS now knows what a long haul we are in for. Keep slugging. We are making progress each and every day.
Greetings,
More than 8,000 citizens, Mayors, Assembly members, Town Supervisors, County Legislators, a Congressional Representative, other elected officials, religious leaders and local/state/national environmental organizations have now signed the coalition letter requesting Governor Paterson to withdraw the draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (dSGEIS) for Marcellus Shale Horizontal Drilling and Hydrofracking. Our efforts continue to receive extensive local, state and national media coverage.
Greetings,
In a development of stupendous importance, New York City today "called on DEC to rescind the draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement (dSGEIS) that was released on September 30, 2009 because it does not adequately address the risks of drilling in the New York City watershed, which supplies drinking water for nine million New Yorkers."

Greetings:
I am shocked and extremely pleased to inform you that nearly 6,500 citizens, elected officials and environmental organizations have signed the coalition letter requesting Governor Paterson to withdraw the draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (dSGEIS) for Marcellus Shale Horizontal Drilling and Hydrofracking. Our goal is now 10,000 signatories.
The coalition letter has received extensive media coverage, including tv and front-page articles in the Finger Lakes, the Southern Tier and Central New York:
Greetings:
In only three weeks, nearly 4,500 elected officials, environmental organizations and citizens have signed the coalition letter requesting Governor Paterson to withdraw the 9/30/09 draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (dSGEIS) for Marcellus Shale Well Permit Issuance for Horizontal Drilling and High-Volume Hydrofracking.
Thank you so much for your support.
