Great Front-Page Fractivist Coverage Cranks up the Heat as Andrew Cuomo's Reelection Bid Enters Crucial Final Stage

Use this Quick Action Guide: http://www.toxicstargeting.com/MarcellusShale/documents/2014-10-01/quick-action-guide

Greetings,

Once again, I am immensely pleased to commend everyone involved with this campaign for their hard work and incredibly successful efforts to safeguard New York from shale fracking hazards for going on seven years. That organizing achievement is simply mind-boggling. Thank you for all of your assistance.

As Andrew Cuomo's reelection campaign enters its crucial final stage, we are cranking up the heat to require him to halt his secret DOH "review" and his outdated Draft SGEIS.

It is imperative to understand that New York's shale fracking moratorium continues in full force as long as both of those proceedings are not completed. That is why no shale gas production wells have ever been fracked in our state.

More Great News Coverage

Jon Campbell of Gannett's Albany bureau reported last week that Andrew Cuomo is being battered on all sides by shale fracking concerns. He quoted me saying: "I'm telling the governor that we have just begun to fight between now and Election Day," said Hang. "If he thinks he's been bird-dogged before, he hasn't seen anything yet."

Jon's article ran as the front-page lead throughout New York's Marcellus Shale region in The Ithaca Journal, The Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin and The Elmira Star Gazette. It also ran in Gannett papers all over New York from Rochester to Westchester.

Perhaps most importantly, Jon's article ran nationwide in USA Today as well as in The Des Moines Register, The Nashville Tennesean and The Indianapolis Star. His piece was picked up by news aggregators and circulated hither and yon.

That massive coverage will pack an enormous political punch with only weeks to go before election day. Congratulations and thanks, Jon, for all of your excellent shale fracking reporting.

Cuomo Job Approval Rating Plummets to Lowest Level Yet

Please note that a 9/24/14 Marist Poll found that only 42 percent of New York voters said that Cuomo is doing an "excellent" or "good" job, down from 47 percent in August. This nadir in Andrew Cuomo's support is almost certainly due, at least in part, to his bruising and embarrassing Primary battle with Zephyr Teachout in which Fractivists played a key role.

Check out More Amazing, Super-Focused Fractivist Letters To Andrew Cuomo

Andrew Cuomo will be fighting for every vote he can get in the days ahead. We must use that leverage to our best advantage.

With that goal in mind, I am pleased to report that Fractivists continue to write amazingly powerful, super-focused letters which echo the "ask" that Andrew Cuomo halt both his DOH "review" and his Draft SGEIS proceedings. He has now received literally thousands of those requests.

As you can see, Fractivists have eloquently framed their requests within the context of how they will cast their votes on election day: http://www.toxicstargeting.com/MarcellusShale/documents/2014-09-19/Withdraw-DOH-review-and-Draft-SGEIS-personal-letter

Take Urgent Action Until Election Day

Our game plan remains exactly the same down the homestretch until election day:

Bird-Dog Andrew Cuomo at every campaign stop he makes. Alert your local list servs the moment you hear he will be in your area. Bring every sign you have. Be respectful, but yell your heads off.

Try to get press coverage for the key message that Andrew Cuomo must halt his secret DOH "review" and his outdated Draft SGEIS because both proceedings are based on information that is five years old.

Drive home the point that New York's shale fracking moratorium must be continued until a comprehensive shale fracking "Public Health Impact Study" is conducted openly and transparently with full public participation.

Sign the coalition letter with nearly 2,200 signatories that spells out those critical requests: http://www.toxicstargeting.com/MarcellusShale/letters/2014/6/23/coalition-letter-withdraw-sgeis

Those signatories referenced hundreds of grassroots groups that are on the front lines of the battle to safeguard New York from shale fracking. Check them out: http://www.toxicstargeting.com/MarcellusShale/documents/2014-10-02/group-signatories-withdraw-sgeis
