ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – A meeting to discuss potential toxic hazards at Elmira High School will be held this Thursday.

Walter Hang, President of Toxics Targeting, is planning to share site contamination data from the area around Elmira High School. The event is being hosted by Andy Patros, a former County Legislator, and he shared with us his hope for the upcoming event in Elmira.

He said, "What I want to do is allow the public to have an ample opportunity for some Q and A. I look at this as hopefully being a first step to re-engaging the community."

“(2003-2018) It has been 15 years where there really hasn't been that, in my opinion, level of community engagement and community awareness.”

The event will be held at The Holiday Inn Elmira-Riverview this Thursday from 6-8 PM.
