Governor Cuomo Please Deny All Section 401 Water Quality Certification Applications for Proposed Fossil Fuel Pipelines in New York

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is B O, MD and I live at _____ Street, ___, NY 13326.

I write today because I am very concerned about the impact of natural gas infrastructure on the public health of New Yorkers. As a physician who cares primarily for people who are seriously ill, I am continuously reminded of the tragic impact that environmental toxins can have on susceptible individuals.

With those concerns in mind, I request that you deny all pending applications for Water Quality Certification for the proposed Constitution Pipeline and all other natural gas, crude oil and petroleum product infrastructure projects in New York due to the state's well-documented inability to fulfill the requirements of Section 401 of the U. S. Clean Water Act.

Deny Water Quality Certification to Constitution Pipeline.

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is S Z and I own an organic farm and farming business and several properties in ___, NY. I write today because my wife and I are about to have a child and we know his future will be much better without an environment surrounded by fossil fuel transport, processing, distribution, etc... he needs an environment that is clear of those dangers and we've purchased solar electric and thermal systems to be 100% renewable and not have to rely on pollutive forms of energy.

Concerned citizen requesting Governor Cuomo Deny All Section 401 Water Quality Certification Applications for Proposed Fossil Fuel Pipelines in New York

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is G L and I live at ___ St, Ithaca, NY 14850.

I write today because I am terribly concerned about the pollution that the pipeline will bring to my hometown of Ithaca, NY. I swim in the lakes and I don't want to get sick from the pipeline toxic discharge. I am a Cornell University Professional who wants to invest in the area by purchasing property and starting a business, but I will not do so if the pipeline project is approved. Toxic spills cause businesses and property to become worthless overnight. I beg you to deny this pipeline in order to revitalize the upstate economy and preserve our tourism business.

Please DENY SECTION 401 WQC

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is M W. K, MD and I live at ___ Lane, Penfield, NY 14526.

I write today because I urgently request that you deny the Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the proposed Constitution Pipeline because DEC failed to prevent a total of 114 massive pipeline explosions, fires, ruptures and toxic discharges. This information proves that pipeline disasters caused extensive water quality violations all over New York that were never cleaned up to state standards. As you wisely and correctly blocked Fracking, you must now act responsibly and promptly as requested in this message.

Water Quality Certification... deny this application

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is R H and I live at __ N Moore St, NYC NY.

I write today because _we have to stop using fossil fuels and for this specific email, to absolutely stop the Constitution Pipeline, and to stop the use of natural gas. I SUPPORT THE BLOCKAGE OF WATER CONTAMINATION. WATER IS NECESSARY FOR LIFE.

FURTHER: IF YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH THE HORRORS OF CLIMATE CHANGE IT HAS TO BE DEALT WITH NOW. WE ARE ALREADY LATE.

AND FURTHER - METHANE IS A POTENT GHG THAT DEGRADES FROM CO4 TO CO2 IN 8 - 12 YEARS AND IS 104 TIMES STRONGER THAN CO2 DURING THAT TIME FRAME. METHANE, THE LARGEST COMPONENT OF UNNATURAL GAS. IT WOULD HELP SLOW DOWN CLIMATE CHANGE IF METHANE WAS STOPPED. http://www.damascuscitizensforsustainability.org/2016/02/how-bad-of-a-greenhouse-gas-is-methane

S. Clean Water Act.

message from constituent: DENY Section 401 Water Quality Certification

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is M T and I live at ___ Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238 .

I are writing to you to about the propsed Constitution Pipeline, and how dangerous it is for current New Yorkers, and future generations.

I urge you to DENY all pending applications for Water Quality Certification because it cannot be certified or verified that the proposed Constitution Pipeline will not cause water quality violations.

I am sure you have seen Comptroller's Thomas P. DiNapoli's audit findings which confirms the massive natural gas pipeline disasters that Toxics Targeting previously documented with the Department of Enviornmental Conservation's own data.

Please be the environmental Governor of our future and do the right thing for all New Yorkers and future generations and DENY the Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the proposed Constitution Pipeline.

Thank you.

Governor Cuomo Please Deny All Section 401 Water Quality Certification Applications for Proposed Fossil Fuel Pipelines in New York

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is R G and I live at ___ W __th St, New York, NY.

I write today because I am concerned about the quality of life of my fellow New Yorkers living along the proposed route of the Constitution Pipeline. I am also frightened that pipeline building is inconsistent with the state's renewable energy goals and climate commitments. This Earth Day, I hope you will safeguard all New Yorkers' health and safety.

Please, Block the plans that will allow the Constitution Pipeline to be laid through any area of NY State.

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is R L and I live at ___ Road, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472 .

I write today because you alone can block the proposed Constitution Pipeline. It is clearly a step backward to support means and methods of enabling fossil fuels to remain our primary source of energy. I understand that action against this pipeline must be taken with a week's time. I applaud your efforts that blocked fracking in NY State. However, permitting fracked gas from out of State to travel through NY supports fracking in a different way.

Governor Cuomo Please Deny All Section 401 Water Quality Certification Applications for Proposed Fossil Fuel Pipelines in New York

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is K R and I live in Trumansburg, NY.

I write today because I am concerned about NY's addiction to fossil fuels, and the technologies that it creates, such as fracking and the need for oil pipelines, both of which are potentially extremely dangerous to our environment and the health of all New Yorkers.

Deny Constitution Pipeline

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is J I and I live at ___ Tenth Street, NYC 10009

I write today because of my concerns that fracking should not be considered as a transition fuel towards renewable energy and that we must stop building the infrastructure that will support the fossil fuel industry. If we do not act strongly now, recent research shows that we will soon reach irreversible climate change tipping points. New York State should become a leader in states that are replacing their fossil fuel economy with renewables. We should also protect our citizens from the increasingly documented dangers of the fracking industry.

Governor Cuomo Please Deny All Section 401 Water Quality Certification Applications for Proposed Fossil Fuel Pipelines in New York

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is D P and I live at ____ Street, Groton.

I write today because I am horrified that this pipeline will result in 700,000 trees being cut down. That increases climate change, cutting down our forests. It also ensures that NY will remain dependent upon fossil fuels, something you have pledged to counteract. You have initiated the REV program to help NY get off the fossil fuel addiction, and now if you don't stop this pipeline you are counteracting your own initiative!! Does that make sense? No, of course not. Please do not allow this pipeline to get the NYS approvals that it is asking for.__.

Stop the gas pipelines thru NY

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is S E and I live at ___ Rd, Ithaca, NY____ .

I write today because I feel the proposed gas pipelines are unnecessary, a waste of money and an ecologically poor choice for NY both in long and short run. We in NY have NO shortage on natural gas and I am not in favor of damaging our land so that the gas companies can make a huge profit by shipping LNG overseas, where it commands a much higher price.

I am very pleased and proud with what you have done as governor, far surpassing my expectations for changes in Albany. Let us as NYers take a stand in favor of a cleaner future with more good jobs for upstaters in industries that will keep NY healthier socially and economically. Big corporations come and go, often leaving their garbage/pollution behind. Now it is time to for all NYers to prepare for a future that benefits us and not at the expense of pollution, temporary jobs, and unneeded projects. We have roads and other infrastructure than badly need repairs. Those projects will bring much more value to NY than a dangerous, polluting pipeline that is not needed.

Request to deny 401 Water Quality Certificate for Constitution Pipeline

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is D M. Our family has had property in the Town of Sanford for six generations.

I write today representing those generations who have grown up blessed by the waters of Oquaga Lake and the sweet fragrance of crushed berries and herbs in the fields and woodlands that have protected our watershed. Building fracking infrastructure and industrializing this sacred land would destroy that watershed. The Constitution Pipeline is unnecessary and has not met the standards to protect our water quality.

The Department of Environmental Conservation's own data document a total of 114 major pipeline explosions, fires, ruptures and toxic discharges that often were never cleaned up to state standards. In many cases, no clean up efforts were undertaken.

This clearly proves New York can neither prevent catastrophic transmission pipeline disasters nor clean them up. This analysis totally contradicts FERC's assertion that, "impacts on waterbody and wetland resources will be effectively minimized or mitigated to the extent practicable."

New York must DENY the Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the Constitution Pipeline because it cannot fulfill the requirements of the U. S. Clean Water Act. New York can only issue a Water Quality Certification when the state determines that, "the proposed activity will not violate water quality standards."

Please deny permits for Constitution Pipeline

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is K S and I live at __ Broadway, NY,NY.

I write today because I am concerned about the potential dangers of pipelines, such as spills, but also because we can no longer afford to encourage the use of fossil fuels. The best and safest policy is a wholesale switch to renewables while leaving the polluting fuels in the ground.

Please deny these water permits, stand by the health and safety of New York VOTERS!

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is T V-B and I live at ___ Street in ___, NY

I write today because I don't want dangerous gas chemicals, added methane to overall greenhouse gas, and I do not want a pipeline running right next to an aging nuclear facility that is operating without a license.

Water Quality Certification

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is B Z and I live in Mahopac, NY.

I write today because right now, I'm looking out at Lake Mahopac, thinking about what a gift water is to all living things. But as you well know, oil and water don't mix. And neither does natural gas and water. Not once. Not 114 times. That is the number of hazardous spills that have spewed poison around the state.

Deny Constitution Pipeline its Water Quality Certification

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is G S and I live at ___ Dr. in Rochester, NY 14618.

I write today because I am worried about the threat of pollution any new gas pipelines pose to our water supply. Of course, building such pipelines also extend our addiction to fossil fuels produced using fracking in other previously beautiful US states. Thank you for banning fracking in NYS and keeping NY beautiful! We can easily replace gas as our prime home heat source using electric heat pumps, using electricity produced at new clean energy facilities like the
Lighthouse Wind Project.
