tree felling in New york

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is P T. D and I live at ___ Hibernia Road, Salt Point, NY .

I write today because I am afraid you will not keep your word to prohibit all types of High-Volume Hydraulic Fracking in New York, including "gelled" propane. I am generally a non-confrontational person. However I must fight you each and every day on this critical issue because shale fracking imperils the farming, tourism and clean water that is the lifeblood of our state.

Unless you require New York to remain 100% free of shale fracking, starting in Barton, NY, I will never vote for you, donate a penny to your campaign or support your efforts in any way. Permitting any kind of shale fracking in our state would be totally irresponsible. Rather than following Pennsylvania's misguided lead to ruin, we should be uniting with Vermont to lead the way to a better future for all. Surely you are paying attention to Bernie's popularity. That's the bandwagon you ought to associate yourself (and the great state of New York) with. To do otherwise will mean the end of your political career.

I request that you deny all pending applications for Water Quality Certification for the proposed Constitution Pipeline and all other natural gas, crude oil and petroleum product infrastructure projects in New York due to the state's well-documented inability to fulfill the requirements of Section 401 of the U. S. Clean Water Act.

Natural gas pipelines and infrastructure

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is E C and I live at ___ Dr. Bloomfield NY 14469.

I write today because I am frustrated how climate change reduction plans are moving along at a slower pace than the issue requires. If fossil fuels should stay in the ground, why then are the gas and oil industries getting green lights putting in pipelines and fracking infrastructures? We have enough pipelines and infrastructure to " bridge us over to renewables. You can be the savior that you started by banning HVHF by stopping the constitution Pipeline via water quality certification. If done ASAP you might even save a maple syrup farms trees from being cut during sapping season in Pa.

With those concerns in mind, I request that you deny all pending applications for Water Quality Certification for the proposed Constitution Pipeline and all other natural gas, crude oil and petroleum product infrastructure projects in New York due to the state's well-documented inability to fulfill the requirements of Section 401 of the U. S. Clean Water Act.

Constitution and Water Quality Permit

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is C. G. and I live at ___ Road, Unadilla NY and 180 ___ Avenue, Middletown RI.

I write today because ___the expansive natural gas infrastructure is impacting my family in multiple locations in NYS and should be brought to a halt.

My family has lived in NYS for a couple of centuries. I grew up in small town rural America. The Adirondacks were considered sacred. Trout fishing was held in high esteme and opening day was highly anticipated. Hiking in my own back yard, the Adirondacks and the Catskills was routine. When my son and his wife purchsed an old farm house and land in Unadilla some 8 years ago I was thrilled. My husband and I pitched in with renovation of land and home. We planned to build a small cabin there. We starting raising bees. They gardened and planted fuit trees and were just so wonderful to watch as they brought this beautiful property back to life. And best of all was the wealth of springs and the deep well with exceptionally delicious water. A year after they purchased this farm, the landsman came calling. That was when all our lives took a dramatic turn. Routes were bounced about, neighbors were hounded to sign away mineral rights, unsavory tactics were used by Cabot Williams to arm twist into accepting, back door coercion with town governments became standard, neighbors were pitted against each other. And, of course, with FERC approval eminent domain loomed over us. We no longer talk about building that cabin, our children have halted much of their restoration and expansion and days are spent understanding how the fossil feul industry works, what its goals are (mostly profit) and what kind of respect it has for individuals and their home environment. Letters, calls, meetings, marches and rallys are the order of the day. We are losing productive years giving back to the land and the town and the state because of a powerful and bullying industry. We know that our rivers, streams and wells will be changed forever if Constitution Pipeline and others get their way. Water is, we are learning the hard way, a precious resource that needs your protection. I want to build that cabin and drink that wonderful water. You have the ability to make it so.

With the Exxon revelations, it is quite clear that this industry has known for a long time that its impact is toxic and that its resource is nearing a feasible end. Climate disruption points to fossil fuels as a significant cause. It is time for a reality check on this industry. A great deal of responsibility is in your hands. You can agree to continue on the business as usual path or you can lead into the future with all the renewable sustainable energy you can muster. If this isn't the critical point, it will soon be upon us. History will put you on the right side of this issue if you call a halt to the present pipeline frenzy.

Deny Pending Applications for WQC for Proposed Constitution Pipeline TODAY

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is James H. and I live at ___ Way, Ithaca, NY.

I write today because I am concerned about the future of our water quality in the state, the Finger Lakes Region in particular. As a father of two sons and a teacher of middle school, I am daily reminded of the consequences of our decisions today that will impact the quality of life for our youth now and into the future. The development of infrastructure through New York State for the production and transmission of fossil fuels, especially hydrofracked natural gas, runs entirely counter to the State's goals to realize its ambitious goals for the development of renewable energy. Make that your legacy, Governor Cuomo--wind farms, solar energy, hydrothermal, biomass and other renewable energy--as you and your agencies support our institutions of higher education and private enterprises in this research and development.

Dear Governor Cuomo:
My name is Daniel K and I live and am registered to vote at _ N Aurora St, Ithaca, NY 14850.

I write today because I'm sick of the automatic YES that pipeline companies are getting to demolish anything in their path so that NYS continues to invest more and more into fossil fuels--the exact wrong direction.

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is D M. my family has had a home on Oquaga Lake in Deposit, NY, part of the Town of Sanford for six generations.

Taking of land and livelihood by eminent domain, destroying the environment in which we live, and profiteering by corporations at the expense of public good must not be tolerated

Constitution Pipeline

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is Karen K and I live at ___ Rd., Ithaca, New York 14850, and I write with a citizen's concerns for water quality, climate change, environmental sustainability, and the democratic process-- in particular, whether decisions about critical environmental, safety, and quality-of-life issues are made by the people of the State of New York or the natural gas industry.

S. Clean Water Act.

Hydraulic Fracking

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is Audrey D and I live in White Plains, NY.

I write today because I am deeply concerned about the environmental impact of fracking, specifically the lack of oversight as to the chemicals used, the leakages that have occurred wherever fracking is prevalent, air quality, the impact on wildlife, the threat to our water supply which could become critical sooner than we think, and the increasing evidence of seismic activity due to fracking.

With those concerns in mind, I respectfully request that you require your Department of Environmental Conservation to issue a Supplemental Findings Statement to revise its definition of high-volume hydraulic fracturing (HVHF) to prohibit all forms of shale fracking in New York, not just HVHF based on "300,000 or more gallons of water."

Section 401 Certification

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is J W and I live in the Town of Dryden. I write because we urgently need to cut back on the use of fossil fuels, especially methane to have a chance to keep our worlkd wide temperature increase at or below 1.5-2.0 degrees Centigrade. You and the
State of New York can and must lead in that effort. Moreover, renewable-sourced energy is readily avialable to take up the slack in our anticipated, future energy needs.

With those concerns in mind, I request that you deny all pending applications for Water Quality Certification for the proposed Constitution Pipeline and all other natural gas, crude oil and petroleum product infrastructure projects in New York due to the state's well-documented inability to fulfill the requirements of Section 401 of the U. clean water for future generations

Dear Governor Cuomo:

My name is C P and I live at ___ County Highway 14 in Treadwell, NY 13846 .

I write today because of the risks to our exceptionally clean water from petroleum transportation projects like the Constitution ppipeline. NY State is blessed with bountiful supplies of crystal clear water, and we would be irresponsible criminals to risk a drop of it for a filthy and outdated addiction to oil and gas as energy supplies.
