Greetings,
Thank you for all of your immensely dedicated and laser-focused assistance to keep New York free of destructive shale fracking and massive fossil fuel infrastructure projects.
I am pleased to report that we are seven days closer to the critically important 3/31/16 deadline that could decide the fate of the proposed Constitution Pipeline in New York.
After that date, no trees can be felled along the proposed Constitution Pipeline route until 11/1/16 even if state or federal authorization is provided, perish the thought.
Governor Cuomo continues to be bombarded with thousands of powerful, personalized letters and calls which systematically echo the request that he DENY the Section 401 Water Quality Certification required for the 124-mile pipeline monstrosity to be built.
So far, so good. The Governor has neither denied nor granted the Section 401 Water Quality Certification. FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) also has not granted authorization for felling trees along the proposed route in New York despite two requests submitted by Constitution Pipeline Co., LLC.
Keep phonebanking Governor Cuomo at 518 474 8390 to request that he: a) TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO PREVENT ANY TREE FELLING in New York for the proposed Constitution Pipeline and b) DENY the Section 401 Water Quality Certification required for its construction.
Hammer home DEC's documented inability to prevent at least 114 major fossil fuel pipeline explosions, fires, ruptures and toxic discharges, including many water quality violations that were never cleaned up to state environmental protection standards.
DEC must not grant the Section 401 WQC because the agency clearly cannot fulfill the requirements of the U. S. Clean Water Act.

Thanks so much for all your help. Keep smiling, dialing and writing.
