Wonderful News About Working Well Together to Achieve Great Goals

Use this Quick Action Guide to request that Governor Cuomo DENY all Section 401 Water Quality Certification Applications for the Constitution Pipeline and other proposed natural gas infrastructure projects across NYS. Please act immediately or it could be too late.

I would like to thank even more Contributors who are helping to sustain our fantastically successful six-year campaign. If you can, please donate generously to support Toxics Targeting's unique efforts to safeguard New York 100% from shale fracking and pipeline hazards. Our shale gas battles are far from over. Seasons' Greetings,

I am grateful to so many Fractivists for their good wishes, financial contributions and kind words, including from some of the hardest markers in the business of politics.

As I count our collective blessings, I am immensely pleased to report some wonderful news that will warm your holiday hearts and underscore why our highly coordinated campaign is such a powerful political force.

I was invited last week to make a presentation to the Planning Committee of Community Board #1 Manhattan (Battery Park City, Wall Street, Seaport, Civic Center, Tribeca as well as Ellis, Governor's and Liberty Islands). This is arguably one of the wealthiest and most powerful locales on the planet.

I asked their support for a resolution I drafted which requests that Governor Cuomo prohibit "gelled" propane fracking proposed in Barton, NY as well as all other waterless fracking methods. New York City obtains most of its drinking water from an area that overlays the Marcellus Shale formation.

Both the Planning Committee and CB1 as a whole approved the resolution unanimously (14-0 and 34-0, respectively). That tally is hard to believe.

Many thanks to Catherine McVay Hughes, Chair of CB1, and her heavy-hitting colleagues. Their detailed resolution sends Governor Cuomo an unmistakable message. I guarantee political alarm bells are ringing on the Second Floor of the State Capitol.

See: Community Board #1 Resolution - 12/17/2015 as well as some pics of Catherine at two historic fracking events.

Catherine, your shrewd advocacy and tireless organizing over many years are much appreciated. I cannot tell you how crucial your work has been to protecting New Yorkers from shale fracking. Please allow me to commend you and your CB1 colleagues on behalf of all those who have benefited from your great work.

If other Fractivists would like to try to pass this resolution, please get in touch.

Take Urgent Action Today

Proposed "gelled" propane fracking permits in Barton, NY and Section 401 Water Quality Certification applications for the Constitution Pipeline and other natural gas infrastructure projects could be granted any day. I implore you to take concerted and unrelenting action before it is too late.

Sign here: New Coalition Letter Requests That Governor Cuomo Deny All Section 401 Water Quality Certification Applications for Natural Gas, Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Infrastructure Projects.

CALL GOVERNOR CUOMO DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS AT 518 474 8390.

Respectfully request that the Governor immediately deny all pending Section 401 Water Quality Certification applications for natural gas, crude oil and petroleum product infrastructure projects, including, but not limited to the proposed Constitution and Northeast Energy Direct pipelines as well as the proposed New Market Project expansion of the existing Dominion pipeline.

Underscore that Governor Cuomo has a duty to deny all pending Section 401 Water Quality Certification applications because his DEC clearly cannot fulfill its legal mandate pursuant to the U. S. Clean Water Act. DEC's own data document the agency's on-going failure to prevent water quality violations at existing pipelines all over New York.

Conclusion

Our hard-hitting and intensely focused efforts continue to play a pivotal role in safeguarding New York 100% from shale fracking hazards and proposed natural gas, crude oil and petroleum products pipeline and infrastructure projects.

It is imperative that we maintain and intensify our advocacy and organizing efforts or those fights might come to an unfortunate end. Take nothing for granted.

Thank you so much for all your help. I cannot tell you how much it is appreciated.

I might have important news to share with you shortly. Hope to see you very soon.

Onward and upward.

Happy Holidays,

Walter
